An international network of early career researchers studying dissociative experiences.

Who we are

We are an international network of researchers using empirical methods to improve the understanding and treatment of dissociative experiences.

Dissociation describes a range of diverse experiences involving a discontinuity of normally integrated experiences. This can include feeling detached from the self or the world, as well as other experiences such as compartmentalization.

Read our Frequently Asked Questions for more information about dissociation, and read our Handbook to learn more about DIS.connected.

What we do

We aim to foster peer support and career development opportunities for dissociation researchers at the early-career researcher stage around the globe.

We hold monthly online informal discussion meetings to which all members are invited.

Topics of these meetings include (but are not limited to) discussions about:

  • Recent work in the field,
  • Key concepts in dissociation research,
  • Presentations of members’ work or planned funding submissions,
  • Key issues affecting ECRs,
  • Feedback about recent conference attendances,
  • Planning for future conference submissions, etc.
